To those standing in the gap for God on behalf of your college athletic department,

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”  2 Chronicles 20:12

“I don’t know what to do!”  I have heard myself say those words too many times to count over 15 years on campus with Athletes in Action.  Have you felt this way yet as you have begun building an AIA movement on your campus?  If you haven’t yet, you soon will!

When I begin to think this way I am reminded of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, and his words in 2 Chronicles.  He had just gotten word that a great army was coming to attack his people and the first thing he does is “inquire of the Lord.”  He calls all the people of Judah together to pray and fast, during which he acknowledges to God in front of all of them that he doesn’t know what to do.  Yet he has already done the most important thing he could by turning to God in prayer.

As you are taking steps of faith on your campus to see God use you in the lives of fellow athletes, prayer needs to be woven through every thing you do, as the article “The Foundation of a Movement” talks about here.  The great thing about not knowing what to do is that it drives us to God in prayer, but even during those times when we think we know exactly what to do we still need to be in prayer.

Please know we with AIA are laboring before the Lord in prayer with and for you.  Thanks for letting Him use you on your campus!

In His grip with you,

The Athletes in Action SportLinc Team
